Simple /  Beginner Granny Square SHALL / SCARF

slst = slip stitch (Insert hook, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch as well as through the loop on the hook.)                                 
ch – chain (yarn over, draw yarn through the loop on the hook.)
sc- single crochet (Insert hook, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook.)
dc - double crochet  (yarn over, Insert hook, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook)


Row 0: Center Granny Square 3ch; join with slst in first ch to form a ring.
Row 1: 3ch (counts as first dc here and throughout), 2 dc in ring, rep. { 3ch, 3 dc in ring} x 3 times, 3ch; join with slst in top of beginning ch—12 dc (four 3-dc groups) and 4 ch-3 spaces. slst across to ch-3 space.
 Row 2: Slst in next 2 dc, (slst, 3ch, 2 dc, 3ch, 3 dc) in first ch-3 space (first corner made), rep. {1ch, (3 dc, 3ch, 3 dc) in next ch-3 space (corner made)} x 2 times, 1ch; join with slst in top of beginning ch—4 corners.
 Row  3: Slst in next 2 dc, (slst, 3ch, 2 dc, 3ch, 3 dc) in first ch-3 space (first corner made), 1ch, 3 dc in next ch-1 space, rep. { 1ch, (3 dc, 3ch, 3 dc) in next corner ch-3 space (corner made), 1ch, 3 dc in next ch-1 space } x 2 times, 1ch; join with slst in top of beginning ch—4 corners and four 3-dc groups (one 3-dc group on each side between corners).

Row 3: 3ch, 2 dc in first ch-1 space, rep. {1ch, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch-1 space} across, turn—six 3-dc groups and 5 ch-1 spaces.
Rows 4–27: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 twelve times. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Sew each extension to opposite sides of Centre granny square. Weave in ends.
